Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic musician, singer and actor. He blends soul gospel jazz with R&B in a distinct blend. She has performed on Broadway, at the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. Her birthplace is Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her music career singing and playing the piano at church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her training within Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single to feature her vocals was Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released only in Japan It has since been remixed by numerous producers and is the mainstay of her live set. She also lent her voice to the music of The Fighting Temptations. The band was hired as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to serve as the choral leader for this theatrical production. Sunshine was noticed by America during the 4 performances a day during the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine then went on to be asked to sing in the presence of the President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
